The new fire safety law brings new responsibilities to businesses of all sizes, those who are not compliant face prosecution.

Few people in the workplace could be expected to have the expertise to competently carry out a Fire Risk Assessment.

It was because of this scenario, and the fact that friends who have their own businesses were contacting us for advice that PHOENIX EXECUTIVE FIRE ADVISORY ASSOCIATES was formed.

All consultants have qualified through courses at the national Fire Service College at Moreton-in Marsh, Gloucestershire in all aspects of new Fire Safety Order, as well as achieving academic qualifications by examination of the Institution of Fire Engineers.

Central Government has issued guidance for the use by the Responsible Person, however it was apparent by phone calls received from friends in business that some felt that they did not have the required competencies and were looking for someone from the private sector, having the background and experience of Fire safety inspections to undertake the task for them.

We have developed a number of training courses that meet the requirements of the new Fire Safety Order. A part of the training requirement is that Fire Wardens must be competent in the correct use of fire extinguishers and evacuation processes.

Within the Fire Safety Order, it should be pointed out that the risk remains the same as it was prior to the new legislation, it is where the responsibility lies that has changed, making the employer self regulate the risk. We offer to undertake the Fire Risk Assessment for which all consultants hold the relevant qualifications, having been taught these skills at the national Fire Service College, and then had many years of practical experience as uniformed inspecting officers and supervisory officers.

Our instructors are well qualified, many of whom have served as high ranking officers in Fire Services throughout the country, the principal consultant, Ray was with Surrey Fire & Rescue for over 30 years and has been involved with training at Wray Park Centre during that time, and has recently retired as the Deputy Chief Officer of Surrey. All of the instructors we use are either retired or serving members of the Fire Service with appropriate qualifications.

We offer a service that will allow you as the responsible person to make a decision to be compliant or to enhance your fire safety measures to whatever level you think is right to ensure safety of staff, the building, and business continuity.

We have associate companies, and are therefore able to offer a fully comprehensive service in all fire safety related matters.

We offer a professional service at a realistic price.

We do, of course, have the relevant professional indemnity and public liability insurance cover.
